PRINTING CAPABILITIES

Resin printing for research.

Formlabs Form 4

MSLA · Low Force Display™

Build volume: 200 × 125 × 210 mm
XY pixel size: 50 µm

Manufacturer specifications ↗
Example resin options
ResinKey characteristicsExample use
Clear Resin V5 ↗Clear and rigid; polishing can improve optical clarity.Visual inspection models and transparent prototypes.
Grey Resin V5 ↗Matte and opaque; suited to inspecting fine geometric details.General prototypes and form-and-fit checks.
Tough 2000 Resin V2 ↗For engineering parts requiring toughness and stiffness.Holders, housings and functional prototypes.

ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra

LCD-based masked resin printing (MSLA). Prototype and master fabrication.

Print orientation, support placement and post-processing are planned around the part geometry.

Manufacturer / Saturn 4 Ultra family ↗
Example resin options
ResinKey characteristicsExample use
ABS-like ↗Toughness-oriented photopolymer; not ABS thermoplastic.Holders, assembly components and prototypes.
Standard ↗General-purpose resin family for detailed models.Visual models and geometry trials.
Water-washable ↗Resin family that supports water washing after printing.Prototypes selected around the washing workflow.

Resins are example options; availability, printer profile and application suitability are confirmed during quotation.

Pixel size is not the same as finished-part accuracy. Resin, orientation, layer settings and post-processing are selected for the design. Our starting lower limit for channel design is 100 µm; tolerances are assessed per project.

CUSTOMIZABLE GEOMETRY

Design parameters.

ParameterScope
Geometry & dimensionsExternal dimensions, small features, thin walls and cavities.
Fit & contact surfacesCritical areas for assembly or contact with other components.
Material requirementsMechanical, thermal, solvent and optical requirements.
Printing & post-processingOrientation, support contacts and post-processing needs.
Quantity & applicationPrototyping or repeat production requirements.

Tolerances depend on geometry and material. Biocompatibility, sterilization suitability or pressure resistance are not assumed for an unspecified resin.
